Aside from the obvious Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter, there aren’t many apps on my phone that I use daily. However, there are a couple exceptions, so here’s a list of my 5 favorite apps and why I love them!
Spotify, with 140 million active users as of June 2017, holds a special place in my heart. Who doesn’t love an endless variety of music? With Spotify Premium, I have an ad-free experience and am able to skip as many songs as I want. At first I used Spotify for free, but they quickly lured me into their $9.99 a month trap. I now enjoy jamming to the songs on their app every day on all of my drives. All of them. Seriously.
2. VSCO Cam
I’ve been using VSCO Cam for photo editing for about 4 years now, and I still don’t know why it doesn’t get more buzz. They have an array of photo filters and adjustment options on their app that all work together to make your photos reach their highest potential. No picture of mine will enter the world of Instagram without taking a pit stop at VSCO first. Beautiful filters, extremely user-friendly, and a must-have for anyone who takes the occasional artsy picture.
Following along with number 2, UNUM is an app that helps you step-up your Instagram game. It essentially lets you plan out your future posts so that you can rearrange them and organize your pictures into a neat feed. I’ll admit, this one’s for the very intense Instagram enthusiasts who are obsessed with organization and aesthetically appealing layouts. But it can be helpful to have a good looking Instagram, whether it’s for a personal page or for a brand. So, taking the extra step to plan your posts could become an important step in your social media advertising. It’s also great that UNUM is super easy to use, and it even brings a little joy to Instagram addicts like myself.
If you haven’t heard of Venmo, then you probably owe your friends for an Uber or food that you’ll never actually pay them back for. Venmo, with 203 million active users, is a mobile payment app owned by PayPal. By connecting the app to your card, you’re able to pay or request anyone for money by username. It only takes about 2 days for the transaction to go through, making the app fast and uncomplicated.
MyFitnessPal made it into my top 5 because of how helpful it is in starting a consistently healthy lifestyle. It allows you to keep track of the foods you eat, what’s in them, and your exercise. The app makes it easy to see your progress in terms of weight by using a graph on the main page, and they also use pie charts in showing what nutrients make up the meals you log. The visuals they use let you see everything laid out, keeping the information straightforward and simple.
